CAMARGUE

I created this work during a workshop at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie in Arles, France. Over two days—one for shooting and one for editing—I was tasked with producing a photo anthology of no more than 22 pages that captures my vision of the Camargue, a region known for its beautiful nature and wildlife. With no specific brief, I had complete creative freedom. This was a new experience for me, as I usually spend weeks or months working on a series after a shoot, with fun yet exhausting editing and post-production sessions. At each site I visited, I focused on a different theme: the dry summer swamps, the rough salt exploitations, the serene beaches by the Rhone, the playful flamingos - and the candid white horses, another iconic sight of the Camargue. I want to thank David Pinzon for leading the workshop and showing me the best of what the Camargue has to offer photographers. After the two-day workshop, I spent an extra day trying to capture the beauty of the flamingos & birds that are everywhere in Camargue. As the sun began to set, the light gradually shifted, and the flamingos became more animated, creating some remarkable sights.
